RE: CONFIRMATION & HOLY COMMUNION SACRAMENTS

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Cashel & Emly diocese received guidance from the HSE/Public Health Authorities late yesterday afternoon. This guidance strongly advised that all First Holy Communions and Confirmations be cancelled and that they not be rescheduled pending further advice from the State.
Following on from that guidance, the parish/schools received a letter from Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly last night asking “that all ceremonies be deferred until it is safe to hold them.”
The Principals, Sixth Class teachers and Fr Enda met this morning to discuss these developments and to write formally to you confirming the following:
- Confirmations scheduled for Saturday 10 July now cancelled
- Confirmations scheduled for Saturday 28 August now cancelled
- Holy Communion scheduled for Saturday 18 September - date stands pending further advice
- Holy Communion scheduled for Saturday 25 September - date stands pending further advice
This is deeply disappointing for us all, but in particular for the children and their families.
We promise to let you know of any concrete developments as soon as we get them. The schools also commit to remaining involved in the coordination of the Confirmation ceremonies whenever they happen.
